Friends was not far from the Marine Base entrance on LeJuene Blvd at the end of Western Blvd. They even had a secret entrance for the Marines to walk to and enter the Bar without having to take their car. The Building sat for a year like that and then was set on fire and destroyed. The Bar was trashed on the last night it was open.

It had literally hundreds of Marines in the Club on a weekend Night and was almost too popular. It was located on LeJeune Blvd near where Onslow Motors is located today. Jacksonville once had a booming Gay Bar in the 1990s called Friends Lounge.
